The Decorative Arts collection features several thousand works of art from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries with strong holdings in Italian maiolica, European porcelain, and Russian decorative arts. The department evolved first with local collectors' gifts of European ceramics and silver, and now encompasses ceramics, furniture, textiles, glass, and metalwork from Europe and America.
Seattle Art Museum respectfully acknowledges that we are on Indigenous land, the traditional territories of the Coast Salish people. We honor our ongoing connection to these communities past, present, and future.
