Portable shrine with Bodhisattva Kokuzo

19th century

The figure is the bodhisatva Kokuzo (Akashagarbha), seated on a lotus throne, holding as his attributes: a sacred jewel (chintmani) and a sword. Lotus patterns are painted over the gold on the doors.
