ca. 1720-30

Peter van Dyck

American, 1684 - 1751

This gourd-shaped teapot, with a curving spout and commodious body, embodies the Dutch-influenced design in New York silver. Van Dyck, a master silversmith, was wealthy enough at the time of his death to will each of his five daughters a silver object-one was a teapot.
