The eight paintings with accompanying poems were originally created as album pages and were re-mounted on a screen. The artist used a combination of pale ink outlines and dark ink daubs to capture the different stages of blossoming plum. The hearty nature of a branch of prunus, a symbol of forbearance and integrity, was a time-honored subject in
