Tim Paul

First Nations, Nuu-chah-nulth, Hesquiat, born 1950

Tim Paul is from the Hesquait Band of the Nuu Chah Nulth people. He was born
in 1950 on the west coast of Vancouver Island at Esprenaza Inlet. He learned to
paint at the age of ten. Then he trained with Ron Hamilton and Calvin Hunt. For
several years Tim produced masks and poles with Richard Hunt under the Royal
B.C. Museum's carving program. He lives in Port Alberni and works with the Nuu
Chah Nulth Tribal Council.
