Moche ceramics provide pictures of life from 1,000 years ago. Many depict common activities such as these warriors striding forth with clubs. Their costumes are heavily embellished and exemplify their ceremony and pageantry. The tomb of a warrior-priest discovered at Sipan in 1987 revealed a vast number of artifacts associated with an elite warrior. The tomb yielded metalwork, textiles, ceramics and war implements of unprecedented quality and complexity.
