Painting table

Date16th century
Label TextTables with inserted shoulder joints, and tapering legs with cloud-shaped carved feet, are rare. The tabletop shows off the wood grain, and the legs are locked into the top by means of exposed tenons. The large scale makes it ideal for painting. It also provides a spacious surface to display objects from a scholar's collection.
