Basket Maker

Curtis wrote that Puget Sound basketry continued to be an important industry of Native women. Although this picture was purposefully set up, these baskets were likely still in use. The woman basketmaker wears a mix of Native and Anglo clothing, typical of female everyday dress at that time.
