Boats at Seattle Waterfront

J. Edgar Forkner

American, 1867-1945

Forkner studied at the Arts Students League in New York and taught in Chicago before moving to Seattle in 1914, when his paintings were shown in the first exhibition of the Seattle Fine Arts Society. He specialized in Seattle harbor views, such as this example, which is intimate in scope, rather than panoramic like the Rockwell displayed in this exhibition.
