Peter Reinicke assistant

German, 1715 - 1768

The model for this figure was crafted by Johann Joachim Kändler (1706–1775), who was probably assisted by Peter Reinicke (d. 1768). Romanticized porcelain figures of craftsmen, street vendors, and peasants were popularized by a newly awakened interest in the individual, fostered by the Age of Enlightenment.
