Mann und Maus

1991-92

Katharina Fritsch

German, born 1956

A gigantic mouse sits on the chest of a sleeping man, in what is either a funhouse dream or a manic nightmare. In Mann und Maus and other works, the artist, Katharina Fritch, manipulates scale to create a sense of unreality that wavers between benevolent and menacing.
