Sung Maojin

Chinese, 1556?–1622

A notable painter from the Songjiang (present-day Shanghai) region steeped in the Song and Yuan painting traditions, Song Maojin took a bold approach in his experiments with composition. In this fan painting, the double pines are connected to the boulder with a billow of clouds.
