Label TextGlass has had a long history in China-from the glass beads of the Eastern Zhou (770-256 B.C.) to the earliest manufactured cast glass vessels dating from the Western Han (206 B.C.-9 A.D). Based on the flat, footless bottom, this plate shows a stronger affinity to Song ceramic forms than to Tang metal ware.
