born 1925, Spokane, Washington; died Seattle, Washington, 2001

In the Old Testament book of Leviticus it is ordained that the third offering unto the Lord should be a peace offering. Here a solitary figure looks out upon utter destruction and darkness and makes some small offering upon the remains of an altar in a plea to calm God’s wrath.
