A Turbaned Soldier on Horseback

Label TextEtching is a medium in which the artist uses a metal stylus to scratch through a soft, waxy coating over a metal plate. Here the fluid line that suggests the forms of horse and rider shows how closely the etching process can mimic free-hand drawing.
