Saddle cover

Saddle cover

19th century

As early as the fourth millennium B.C., the horse has been central to Persian culture and commerce. Particularly in rural areas, horses provided their owners a connection to cities, and a source of status. Horse trappings, such as this saddle cover, provide a platform for artisans of every region to demonstrate the highest levels of artistry.
