How They Pluck Her

How They Pluck Her

late 18th-early 19th century

In the "Caprichos," Goya exposed man types of social inequity and corruption. A contemporary commentary explained this scene: "Judges take notaries and constables under their cloaks so they can rob the women of the town with impunity."
