Mingqi (human figure)

Mingqi (human figure)

Although not as elegant or refined as their glazed or painted counterparts from the central plains region, the Eastern Han pottery mingqi, of Sichuan, has a vitality and expressive force unparalleled in any other regional style. This contorted figure is an excellent example of the distinctive appearance.
