An albarello of yellow brown clay, concave body with slanting shoulder rounding out into top rim and slanting bottom with outward slanting base, covered inside and outside with gray-white enamel now crackled, painted in yellow, blue, green, orange, then covered with transparent tin glaze: on body, medallion enclosing profile bust of bearded man wearing hat, inscription NESV…E in band behind face, and 6 vertical bands of rinceau scrolls and leaf forms, 1 & 6, 2 & 5 similar in design; band of inscription; 3 vertical panels extending across the bans below, motifs in the other 10 digonal sections filled with leaf alternating with scroll and leaf motif; on shoulder and bottom filled with fan-shaped motif.
