Mimbres Classic black-on-white bowl

Mimbres Classic black-on-white bowl

ca. 1000-1130

A pair of fish caught on lines is a common image. The Mimbres River and other mountain streams in southwest New Mexico were home to trout, perch and other fish. The simple shapes become surfaces for geometric elaboration.
