Label TextCasas Grandes is a part of the Mogollon cultural complex that included the present-day Chihuahua and Sonora regions as well as southwestern United States. At the apex of Mogollon culture (ca. 1350), the area’s architecture included ball courts, stone-faced platforms, and effigy mounds. Once one of the largest and most complex settlements in the region, Casas Grandes is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
