Venus and Adonis

1765-67

These figures were produced in the porcelain factory at Ludwigsburg under the patronage of Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg (1728-1793). Johann Christian Wilhelm Beyer, who became the chief modeler at the duke's porcelain factory, had accompanied him on his Grand Tour.
