Little Nude
Date1966
Label TextIn the 1960s, Wesselman drew inspiration from commericial sources. He might take a bra advertisement and simplify and intensify it in a manner implicit in the campaign: the woman becomes naked and her only noticeable features are her mouth and nipples. Wesselman's bold areas of solid color introduce 'abstract' qualities that war with his blatantly sexualized images.
