The Brown Sisters, Cincinnati, Ohio 1981
Date1981
Label TextThese photographs are from a series of annual shots the artist made of his wife and her three sisters, beginning in 1975. In them we are able to witness both the genealogical similarities and differences among the sisters, but also track the fascinating changes in physiognomy brought on by the passing of time. The regularity of the series brings an unusual rigor to the typical family portrait.
