Boy on a young satyr

Dateca. 1744-45
Label TextThis figure dates from the early years of the factory's production, and reveal some of the struggles that occurred in dealing with the new medium. The unglazed spot and green discoloration on the head and face of the satyr (half boy, half goat) riding a giant snail give evidence of challenges in production.
