Boy on a tortoise

Boy on a tortoise

Giuseppe Gricci

Italian, 1700 - 1770

This figure dates from the early years of the factory's production, and reveal some of the struggles that occurred in dealing with the new medium. The firing cracks in the boy riding a tortoise, burned discoloration from firing, give evidence of challenges in production.
