Poems on Plum Blossoms
In comparison to the plum blossom painted by Yang Hui, Chen Jiru's classic rendering is deceptively simpler, with restrained variation in tonality and brushstrokes. The artist appears to have reserved his creative energy for the poem, which is written spiritedly, in light and fluid calligraphy.
