Cloth

Cloth

This cloth was created for the funeral of Felix Houphouet-Boigny (1905-1993), president of Cote d'Ivoire from 1960 until 1993. Boigny is the Baule word for "ram," a symbol of power and male virility. The dove is a symbol of peace-one of the tenets of the national government.
