B.S #18 Silence

1965

Ryuji Kosaka

Japanese, 1912-1972

This print from Kosaka's Blue Stone series, with flattened, rounded shapes and ripple-like striations, evokes the natural landscape of a Japanese tea garden. The artist uses thick poster paint applied atop a still-damp watercolor base to achieve the richly-textured visual effect.
