Label TextA white jade holder, encircled with a landscape in low relief, depicts Daoist themes of a recluse in the mountains. Brush pots became one of the basic elements of a scholar's studio, a natural companion to the "four treasures of the scholar's studio" (wenfan sibao): the brush, paper, ink stick, and ink stone.
