Label TextThis presentation pitcher was presented to Captain George Maxwell by three grateful passengers aboard the Europe after a successful crossing from Liverpool to New York in March and April, 1834. In addition to creating silver, Baldwin Gardiner ran a "furnishings warehouse" that was stocked with imported goods, including porcelain, glass and chandeliers.
