Maynard Johnny Jr.

First Nations, Penelakut-Kwakwaka'wakw, born 1973

Johnny prefers clean-edge forms using elemental shapes drawn from the lexicon of Salish design. A prolific printmaker and painter, the subjects of his work are animals, birds, fish and elements from the natural world rendered in spare, elegant lines and colors.
