A member of China's newest wave of contemporary artists, Beijing-based Shen Liang is known for his high degree of painting acumen and his exploration of social currents that resonate with China's younger generations. In the artist's Book Cover Series, he collects old books from his parents' era and documents them, magnifying their proportions to create large-scale works that transform insignificant details into grand historical narratives.
