Label TextErotic prints known as shunga, literally "spring pictures," have been a part of ukiyo-e culture from its inception. Virtually all of the print masters devoted some degree of their talent to depicting the amorous encounters of the young and the beautiful. This lively print is far less revealing than many. It was likely one of the first prints in a series that grew increasingly explicit.
