Sam in the Garden
1983
Extending his reach, Mason again abandoned the brush for a more unconventional tool to express his non-linear approach to drawing. Sam in the Garden was completed using chopsticks, enabling the artist to break with a traditional application in an attempt to discover a new way of working with and describing form with paint.
