Rena Small thinks of her series Artist's Hands as a form of collaborative portraiture. In this poignant photograph Andy Warhol is signing a can of Campbell soup - an object that he had transformed into a pop icon in some of his 1960s works. With this simple action, Warhol reclaims this mass-produced product as a Readymade, and declares himself as its artistic originator.
