Crucifix
This work was a gift from the collection of Frances McDougall, an original member of the Seattle Ceramic Society beginning in the mid-1940s.
The brown-haired and bearded Christ with bowed head, wearing a blue fluttering drapery, his nailed hands and feet and his pierced side issuing drops of blood, and suspended above a tan skull on a gilt-edged cross affixed at the top with a banderole impressed and gilded I-N-R-I- beneath two suspension holes, the reverse smear-glazed.
