Necklace

Date20th century
Label TextBold circular beaded targets are a common Turkana pattern, used to identify these camel herders as they move through northern Kenya and southern Ethiopia. Using a limited range of colors and a hairstyle that is all their own, Turkana women make certain that their identity and rank was quickly obvious as they moved among other pastoralists in this region.
