Cars speed by in the foreground, but columns are the centerpieces of this Seattle landscape. Lake Union under clouds forms the backdrop for a scene that is carefully framed to reveal features of the city skyline that one takes for granted. This set of columns rise dramatically, as if they are sentinel guardians or resonating elements of an enormous pipe organ.
