Provenance[Collected in Papua New Guinea by Michael Hamson, Palos Verdes, California, 2002 [1]; purchased by Georgia Sales, San Francisco, California, 2003 [1] Michael Hamson received permission, in the form of an export permit (no. 13340), from the Independent State of Papua New Guinea to export this object. Hamson did so in accordance with the country’s National Cultural Property (Preservation) Act of 1965-67. The permit was signed by an official delegate of the Trustees of the Papua New Guinea National Museum and Art Gallery on July 29, 2002.
