Humor is frequently employed in Indigenous print images. At first glance Yeomans appears to have used the classic elements of formline design to render Raven. Upon further exploration, we see that Raven’s body has become a modern conveyance—an automobile. The artist’s use of bold, substantial formlines relates to his mastery of monumental sculpture, including totem poles.
