Preston Singletary

Native American, Tlingit, born 1963

Preston Singletary is a renowned local Indigenous glass artist who began adapting traditional Tlingit designs in glass in the early 1990s. Whale Hat is one of his first glass hats, paying tribute to the dual artistry of women who create the spruce root hats and the men who paint them with crest designs.
