Figures for Yemanja, Preto Velho and Caboclo

In the early twentieth century, an eclectic blend of Catholicism, spiritism and Yoruba beliefs known as Umbanda emerged. This figure is dedicated to Preto Velho (Old Slave) and commemorates the spirits of old slaves who died in captivity. Peaceful and kind, these helpful spirits know all about suffering, compassion and forgiveness.
