Coffee Pot

Dateca. 1750
Label TextThe second coffeepot has a body shape that gently tucks under, a heavily-worked, stylized shell at the base of the spout, and an asymmetrical scroll on the tip—elements of early rococo curves and naturalistic motifs. Philip Syng, Sr., who trained in Ireland, infused the high-quality silver produced in his Philadelphia workshop with the latest style.
