Taichi-Single Whip

1991

Ju Ming

Chinese, born 1938

The figure demonstrates Taichi, a type of martial arts that Ju practiced. The semi-stylized yet precise depiction emphasizes the simplicity and power of this classic Taichi posture, known as Single Whip. The Taichi series in wood and bronze, which ranges from a foot to several meters, has earned the artist international acclaim.
