Renowned for its urban monuments, Teotihuacan was a large-scale metropolis which later cultures dubbed "The City of the Gods." Located north and east of Mexico

City, this site is home to the largest stone pyramids of the Americas, and has been largely restored to at least suggest its spectacular former glory. The artworks, architecture, and other cultural traits of this civilization left an indelible mark on all the succeeding cultures of Middle America, from Aztec to Zapotec.
