Peacock
Label TextThis painting was acquired after Zhang exhibited his works at the Seattle Art Museum in the early 1940s, when he served as a representative of the Chinese government. Although he was much heralded as a Chinese painter, he had combined tradition with Western painting techniques, as seen in the foreshortening of the peacock.
