Chair

Label TextChairs for reclining can take the form of large commas whose support of the spine accommodates sitting for long hours. Stools with three legs require an upright posture for daily use. Such furniture becomes intimately linked with the owner's spirit after decades of sitting. Where portraits are not created in other media, the chair or stool becomes akin to one. Often the stools rest on the family ancestral shrine to serve as a vehicle for communication from one generation to the next.
