N.E. Thing Co.

Canadian, active 1966-1978

N.E. Thing Co. was an influential Vancouver-based collective which remains a figurehead of a particular genre of Northwest conceptual art. As part of the collaboration, Baxter made many works using signs placed in the landscape to question our relationship to the world around us. This work has a similarly disorienting effect in its combination of two paradoxical linguistic/visual prompts.
