Stone mortar

pre-1800

Related by stylistic features to stone bowls-and possibly common ritual uses-mortars have shallow depressions atop the figures. Anthropomorphic and zoomorphic creatures are depicted in a rudimentary fashion, sometimes with skeletalized faces and ribs.
